On 6 June 2014, Vietnam ratified the tax treaty with Uruguay. The treaty was signed 9 December 2013, and approved for ratification by Uruguay on 19 May 2014 as previously reported. The treaty will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
