The Vietnam National Assembly reportedly approved a resolution on 29 November 2023 for the introduction of a top-up tax that will apply for multinational companies from 1 January 2024. The top-up tax is in line with the Pillar 2 global minimum tax, providing for a minimum effective tax rate of 15% for in-scope companies, which includes members of groups with annual consolidated revenue of at least EUR 750 million in at least two of the previous four years.
