Uruguay published Decree No. 29/024 in the Official Gazette on 5 February 2024, which provides for an increase in the income limits for individuals to apply for the simplified regime for the 2024 tax period. This includes a monthly income limit of UYU 61,400 and an annual income limit of UYU 736,800. The simplified tax regime is subject to certain conditions, including that a taxpayer's income is only derived from an economically dependent relationship with an employer. Taxpayers qualifying for the regime are exempt from withholding and subject to simplified settlement.
