According to a release from Ukraine's Ministry of Finance, the Ukraine Parliament approved the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with Malaysia on 30 October 2019. The treaty, signed 4 August 2016 ({News-2017-09-06/T/3-previous coverage}), will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force. Once in force and effective, the treaty will replace the 1987 tax treaty between Malaysia and the former Soviet Union, which Ukraine generally continues to apply (Malaysia's application uncertain).
