UK Transfers Individual Income Tax Power to Scottish Parliament

On 30 November 2016, UK government regulations entered into force for the transfer of power to the Scottish Parliament to set individual income tax rates and thresholds in Scotland. The transfer of power is included as part of the Scotland Act 2016 ({News-2016-03-28/A/3- previous coverage}). The power to set income tax rates and thresholds separate from the UK will apply from 6 April 2017.
