On 1 August 2024, the U.S. Senate held a vote on the Tax Relief for American Workers and Families Act. Although the Act was approved by the House of Representatives back in January 2024 with bipartisan support in a vote of 357 to 70, it failed to move forward in the Senate in a vote of 48 to 44 (60 votes needed to advance).
