According to a release from the Office of the United States Trade Representative, the U.S. will Participate in the Fifth Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Negotiating Round in Bangkok, Thailand from September 10 to 16 2023. Negotiations for the IPEF were first launched in May 2022 with 14 initial partners, including Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam.
