U.S. FinCEN Provides New Beneficial Ownership Reporting FAQs in Relation to Indian Tribes and the Public Utility and Large Operating Company Exemptions

The U.S. Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has published new and updated FAQs on the beneficial ownership reporting requirements that apply from 1 January 2024. The new FAQs, issued on 10 June 2024, concern reporting by India Tribes, the public utility exemption in relation to telecommunications services, and the large operating company exemption.
