The Tunisian government has expanded the scope of goods eligible for a VAT reduction and customs exemption due to COVID-19. This originally included a reduction of the VAT rate on personal protective equipment (such as gloves, masks, sanitizer, etc.) to 7% from 18 April to 31 December 2020, as well as an exemption from customs duties on imports of inputs needed for the production of such goods during the same period. On 8 June 2020, Decree-Law No. 27 for 2020 was published, which extends the reduction/exemption to additional goods, including infra-red thermometers, medical safety eyewear, and thermal cameras.
