Details of the income tax treaty and protocol between New Zealand and Singapore, signed on 21 August 2009, have become available. The treaty was concluded in the English language. The treaty generally follows the OECD Model Convention. The maximum rates of withholding tax are: -   15% on dividends (5% if the beneficial owner is a company who directly owns at least 10% of the voting power of the company paying the dividend); -   10% on interest, subject to an exception; and -   5% on royalties.
