The Hong Kong Chief Executive in Council has issued an order to implement the tax treaty between Hong Kong and Luxembourg. The order was published in the gazette on 1 February 2008 and will be scheduled at the Legislative Council on 20 February 2008 for negative vetting. Subject to the completion of ratification procedures for both sides, the Agreement will take effect with respect to Hong Kong taxes from 1 April 2008 and with respect to Luxembourg taxes from 1 January 2008.
