The income and capital tax treaty and protocol between Austria and Bulgaria, signed on 20 July 2010, entered into force on 3 February 2011. The treaty generally applies from 1 January 2012 for withholding tax purposes and from 1 January 2011 for other tax purposes. From these dates, the new treaty generally replaces the Austria-Bulgaria income and capital tax treaty of 20 April 1983.
