The new income tax treaty and protocol between Australia and Finland , signed on 20 November 2006, entered into force on 10 November 2007. The new treaty generally applies in Finland from 1 January 2008 and in Australia from 1 January 2008 for withholding taxes and 1 July 2008 for other taxes. From these dates, the new treaty generally replaces the Australia-Finland income tax treaty of 12 September 1984.
