According to a release from the Thai Ministry of Commerce, officials from Kazakhstan and Thailand met on 15 August 2024 to discuss bilateral cooperation, including the interest of Thailand's Revenue Department in reviving discussions for the negotiation of an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
