The Thai Revenue Department has announced that the Cabinet has approved an extension of the withholding tax reduction to promote the use of the electronic withholding tax system (e-Withholding Tax). Originally included as part of a COVID-19 tax package approved in March 2020, a reduced withholding tax of 1.5% was provided from 1 April 2020 and a reduced rate of 2.0% was provided from 1 October to 31 December 2020.
