The San Marino Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently issued a release announcing that officials from San Marino and the UK met on 8 February 2022 to discuss bilateral relations. During the meeting, both parties stressed the need to strengthen the framework of existing agreements by proposing the start of negotiations for an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be negotiated, finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
