On 14 October 2019, the Kyrgyzstan Parliament Committee on Budget and Finance approved the signature of a draft income tax treaty with the Netherlands. The treaty must be signed and ratified before entering into force and will be the first of its kind directly between the two countries. The treaty between the Netherlands and the former Soviet Union had applied in respect of Kyrgyzstan but was terminated.
