According to an update from the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department, officials from Hong Kong and Turkmenistan are scheduled to hold the first round of negotiations for an income tax treaty from 18 to 22 December 2023. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
