On 23 May 2015, the tax information exchange agreement between Belize and South Africa entered into force. The agreement, signed 6 May 2014, is the first of its kind between the two countries. The agreement applies for criminal tax matters from the date of its entry into force, and for other matters for taxable periods beginning on or after that date.
