According to recent reports, the Sri Lankan government is planning to sign in 2020 income tax treaties with Austria, Cyprus, Hungary, the Maldives, and Ukraine, as well as an amending protocol to the 1979 tax treaty with the UK. The treaties will be the first of their kind between Sri Lanka and the respective countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
