On 8 December 2022, South Korea's National Assembly approved the ratification of the pending protocol to the 1985 income and capital tax treaty with Austria. The protocol was signed on 14 June 2021 and is the second to amend the treaty. It will enter into force on the first day of the third month after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
