On 30 July 2014, the South African National Assembly passed the law ratifying the pending protocol to the 1996 income tax treaty with India. The protocol was signed 26 July 2013, and brings the article on exchange of information in line with OECD standards. The protocol will enter into force after 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
