The Singapore Parliament is considering legislation for the introduction of the Pillar 2 global minimum tax and for the implementation of tax measures announced as part of the 2024 Budget Statement (previous coverage), including: Multinational Enterprise (Minimum Tax) Bill 2024 (Bill No. 33/2024); and Income Tax (Amendment) Bill 2024 (Bill No. 32/3024). Both bills were introduced on 9 September 2024 and have passed their first reading. The second reading of the bills will be completed at the next available sitting.
