On 31 May 2023, Romania's Chamber of Deputies (lower house of parliament) approved the ratification of the pending social security agreement with Montenegro. The agreement, signed 22 July 2022, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force on the first day of the third month after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
