On 12 September 2018, the Romanian Chamber of Deputies approved and forwarded to the Senate the bill for the ratification of the pending social security agreement with Uruguay. The agreement, signed 13 September 2017, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
