According to a release from Vietnam's Ministry of Labour, officials from Romania and Vietnam met on 13 August 2024 to discuss bilateral cooperation, including Romania's proposal to negotiate a social security agreement, which was agreed to by Minister Dao Ngoc Dung. Any resulting agreement would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
