Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry has announced that South Korea deposited its ratification instrument for the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement on 3 December 2021. With the deposit, the RCEP agreement will enter into force for South Korea on 1 February 2022. As previously reported, the RCEP agreement itself will enter into force on 1 January 2022, following the deposit of ratification instruments by Australia and New Zealand on 2 November 2021, which triggered the condition for the entry into force of the agreement.
