On 26 October 2014, officials from Luxembourg and the United Arab Emirates signed a protocol to the 2005 income and capital tax treaty between the two countries. The protocol is the first to amend the treaty, and includes various changes including an update to bring it in line with the OECD standard for information exchange. The protocol will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
