According to an update from the South African Revenue Service, officials from Germany and South Africa signed an amending protocol on 6 March 2024 to the 2008 income and capital tax treaty between the two countries, which is not yet in force. The protocol is the first to amend the treaty and will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged. Details of the protocol will be published once available.
