On 5 June 2018, officials from Austria and Russia signed an amending protocol to the 2000 income and capital tax treaty between the two countries. The protocol is the first to amend the treaty and reportedly updates Article 26 (Exchange of Information) to bring it in line with the OECD standard for information exchange and adds a new limitation on benefits article.
