President of Sao Tome and Principe Calls for Ratification of SSA between Community of Portuguese Language Countries

Sao Tome and Principe-Brazil-Cape Verde-Portugal-Mozambique-Timor-Leste (formerly East Timor)

During a speech given on 9 July 2024, the President of Sao Tome and Principe, Carlos Vila Nova, urged members of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (Comunidade de Paises da Lingua Portuguesa - CPLP) to ratify the pending CPLP Multilateral Agreement on Social Security. CPLP members that have signed the multilateral agreement include Brazil, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe, and Timor-Leste. To date, only Portugal and Timor-Leste have ratified the agreement. Other members of the CPLP that have not yet signed include Angola, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau.
