Portugal has published Notice No. 2/2022 in the Official Gazette, which confirms that the 2002 income tax treaty with Sweden was terminated with effect from 1 January 2022. The treaty was terminated by Sweden due to a long-standing dispute over the taxation of pensions, which was addressed through an amending protocol signed in 2019 but was not ratified by Portugal.
