The Official of the United States Trade Representative announced that the U.S. and China reached agreement on a Phase One trade deal on 13 December 2019. With the agreement, the U.S. will not proceed with the additional 15% tariff on approximately USD 160 billion of Chinese imports that was scheduled to take effect 15 December, although 25% tariffs on approximately USD 250 billion of Chinese imports are maintained for now, while 15% tariffs on approximately USD 120 billion of Chinese imports are reduced to 7.5%.
