A joint committee of Oman's State Council and Shura Council reportedly sent the draft law for the implementation of a VAT regime to Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq Al Said for approval on 3 September 2020. Although earlier reports indicated an expected implementation of the VAT regime in early 2021, the current suggested implementation is January 2022.
