The Oman Tax Authority (OTA) has published a VAT Guide on Capital Assets. The guide is currently only available in Arabic, although an English-language version is expected to also be published on the OTA VAT webpage. As explained by the guide, the deduction of input tax on the acquisition of capital assets by purchase, import, or construction is generally allowed if the capital assets are used for the production of taxable supplies for VAT purposes, whether standard or zero-rated.
