The government of Oman decided to suspend the application of the 10% withholding tax on Omani-source interest and dividends paid to non-residents with effect from 6 May 2019 and for a period of 3 years which may be extended. The 10% withholding tax on interest and dividends was introduced with effect from 27 February 2017 and the law already provided for relatively wide-ranging exemptions from withholding tax.
