Nigeria's Ministry of Finance has issued the Companies Income Tax (Significant Economic Presence) Order 2020, which defines when a non-resident company is deemed to have significant economic presence in Nigeria. Significant economic presence rules were introduced as part of the Finance Act 2019 for the taxation of non-residents with such a presence in relation to digital activities and the furnishing of technical, professional, management, or consultancy services.
