On 10 March 2020, the Finance Act 2019 (Amendment) Bill 2020 was submitted in the National Assembly (parliament). The bill reportedly includes measures to clarify the application of the Finance Act 2019, which was signed into law on 13 January 2020. This includes the effective date of the VAT rate increase from 5% to 7.5%, which had been confirmed by the Ministry of Finance to be 1 February 2020 but was not codified under law.
