The Austrian Ministry of Finance has issued a release announcing that officials from Austrian and China have agreed to the negotiation of a new tax treaty that meets modern standards, including provisions to address tax avoidance practices and tax fraud. Any resulting treaty will need to be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force and, once in force and effective, would replace the 1991 tax treaty between the two countries.
