Costa Rica's Ministry of Finance has announced the signing of a new tax information exchange agreement with the United States on 20 April 2018. The new agreement is in line with the OECD standard for information exchange and mutual assistance. The agreement will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged, and once in force and effective, will replace the 1989 agreement between the two countries.
