According to a recent release from Mongolia's Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, officials from Australia and Mongolia will meet in January 2025 for the first round of negotiations for a social security agreement. Any resulting agreement would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force. The release also notes that negotiations are underway to renew the social security agreements with Russia and South Korea and for new agreements with Austria and Kazakhstan.
