On 16 December 2020, the Moldovan parliament approved the accession of Moldova to the amending protocol to the CIS Mutual Assistance Agreement. The protocol includes amendments regarding the electronic exchange of information for tax purposes and was signed on 2 November 2018 by Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Belarus acceded to the amending protocol to the CIS Mutual Assistance Agreement on 2 October 2020. Other CIS member states that have not yet acceded to the protocol include Turkmenistan and Ukraine.
