On 1 July 2014, Luxembourg's Grand Duke Henri signed the law ratifying the pending protocol to the 2001 income and capital tax treaty with Slovenia. The protocol was signed 20 June 2013, and updates the article on exchange of information to bring it in line with OECD standards. The protocol is the first to amend the treaty, and was ratified by Slovenia on 28 April 2014. The protocol will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
