On 28 March 2025, Luxembourg's Government Council approved the ratification of the pending protocol to the 2019 income and capital tax treaty with Argentina. The protocol, signed 25 October 2024, is the first to amend the treaty, which has not yet entered into force. The protocol will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from the same date the treaty is effective. The treaty, signed 13 April 2019, will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
