On 18 June 2018, the Kyrgyzstan parliament committee on budget and finance approved a draft protocol to the 1999 income tax treaty with India that includes an update to Article 26 (Exchange of Information) to bring it in line with the OECD standard for information exchange. The protocol will be the first to amend the treaty and must be signed and ratified before entering into force.
