According to a release from the Kuwait Ministry of Finance, officials from Kuwait and Mauritania met on 13 June 2021 to discuss bilateral cooperation. This included discussions on the need for Mauritania to ratify pending agreements between the two countries, including a pending income tax treaty. The treaty, signed 27 December 2009, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force after the ratification instruments are exchanged. The release notes that Kuwait has already ratified the treaty.
