On 1 July 2014, the Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the law ratifying the pending protocol to the 2006 tax treaty with Singapore. The protocol was signed 9 April 2013 and updates the article on exchange of information to bring it in line with OECD standards. The protocol will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
