Kazakhstan Establishes Turkistan Special Economic Zone for Tourism, Construction, and Manufacturing

On 29 September 2018, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed Decree No. 763 for the establishment of a special economic zone (SEZ) in the city of Turkistan. The Turkistan SEZ is focused on businesses in the tourism, construction, and manufacturing sectors and provides qualifying companies with exemptions from corporate income tax, land tax, and real estate tax. The exemptions are to expire 1 January 2043.
