Kazakhstan's State Revenue Committee recently issued a release confirming the reduction of the VAT registration threshold from 30,000 MCI to 20,000 MCI with effect from 1 January 2022. The release also provides that the MCI (Monthly Calculation Index) value for 2022 has been set at KZT 3,063, meaning the VAT registration threshold is KZT 61,260,000 for 2022. This is down from the KZT 87,510,000 threshold in 2021, considering the prior 30,000 MCI threshold and an MCI value of KZT 2,917 for 2021.
