Jersey Publishes Order Extending Social Security Contribution Payment Deferral for COVID-19

Jersey has published the Social Security (Contributions) (COVID 19) (Amendment) (Jersey) Order 2020, which was made on 30 September 2020 and entered into force on 1 October 2020. As provided in the original Order made in April, employers and self-employed persons may apply for up to a 12-month deferral for the payment of Class 1 and Class 2 contributions in respect of the calendar quarters beginning 1 January and 1 April 2020. With the Amendment Order, the possible deferral period is increased to 24 months.
